Welcome to our blog

The mission of Green Carbon is to Go Green and Reduce our Carbon Footprint.

Our goal is to create at least one new thing a day using recycled and/or repurposed materials. Some items will be posted in our Shop , others will have How To's and some will be just for your viewing pleasure.

We're a team of multi-taskers to the core. Not only do we have numerous projects going on at once, but we always try to find as many ways as possible to use something.

The other night as I was tearing away the cardboard from a Pillsbury Grands tube to put into the recycling bin, I was left with two little metal discs and wondered what I could make with them. Ideas flooded into my head and so for my first blog post I'm featuring the little Scrappy Owl Magnet I made. If you'd like to see how I made him or read the directions to give it a go yourself just click the How To section on this page.

We do not claim to be experts on "going green" and are learning more and more about it every day. We try our best to reduce, reuse and recycle every way we can. I've always been "green" even before I knew it.

We just opened a new store Green Carbon on Etsy to feature our repurposed, upcycled and recycled items. More items are being added daily. We are also offering a selection of vintage and out of date patterns. Never one to let something useful be carted off to a landfill, over the year I've salvaged many a new pattern discarded by stores and friends.
