My stash of re-useable shopping bags

Last summer at almost every community event we went to, concert in the park, craft fair, store opening etc. they gave away re-useable shopping bags made of recycled materials. I really, really love getting free stuff and that free stuff being green is a total bonus.

As much as I love using my free bags, I don't necessarily want to carry one with a big Pampers or Metamucil symbol on the side. I also feel a little weird bringing my Shaws bags into Market Basket or vice versa, but maybe that's just me.

So, today I decided to come up with a way to cover up the symbols on the bags in a green and creative way. For my first bag embellishment I chose to work with the giant bag of fabric yo-yos I've accumulated.

Never one to just sit and watch television, I always have to be working on something. I can whip up a pile of cute fabric yo-yos with my left over scraps while watching Burn Notice or Psych and store them away until inspiration hits.
Click here to learn how to decorate your shopping bags with fabric yo-yos, or if you'd just like to learn how to make those cute littel yo-yo's click on the link in our How To section.

Alot of times Sam will help with the grocery shopping, but he won't be caught dead carrying a bag with flowers or cute girly fabric yo-yos on it. So, our next re-useable shopping bag embellishment will be designed by Sam. I'm guessing there will be skulls and weaponry of some sort but he could surprise me.
