Free Stuff in New Hampshire

I'm always on the look out for free events and things. Here are a few I found going on in New Hampshire during the month of April. I'll add more when I find them.

Around The World Free Cone Day April 3, 2012 12 - 8 pm
As a way to thank their customers and to celebrate 34 years of scooping the chunkiest, funkiest ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet, Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops are giving it away! Click Here to find a location near you.

What better way to follow up Free Cone Day than with National Walking Day on April 4, 2012. According to the American Heart Association walking is the "single most effective form of exercise to achieve heart health." Learn more about healthy living and the benefits of walking at the Steeplegate Mall, Concord, NH from 5:30pm-7pm. Enter to win some great door prizes including a $150 gas card courtesy of Grappone Automotive Group.

(Information from the NH Motor Speedway website)
The FANtasy Drive Open House returns for its third year at "The Magic Mile" to kick off the 2012 season at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  As has become customary, the event takes place the day before Easter and serves as a grand welcoming back for fans to NHMS.  The Open House is free to the public and offers unparalleled, all-access to the facility.

Fans may enter the infield to check out the garage area, have their picture taken (for free) in Victory Lane and meet local, regional series drivers.  The Hospitality area will feature a band and Milo will host his annual Easter egg hunt for the children.  Attendees may also check out the the box levels for an exclusive tour of Chairman of the Board Bruton Smith's suite or head up to race control to see where officials oversee the track.  (A more complete list of happenings will be provided closer to the event.)

The marquee part of the day is the FANtasy Drive.  Anyone that has purchased a ticket to a 2012 NASCAR race will have the opportunity to turn three laps on "The Magic Mile's" oval in their own carTickets may be purchased by clicking here or by calling (603) 783-4931.  They will also be available on the day of the event, and Speedway Children's Charities will also set a donation amount for those interested in additional laps.  Cars may hit the track at 9 a.m. and a line often builds up before then.  (Note that while the event runs until 4 p.m., the drive may stop earlier if demand stops earlier in the day.)
